On August 20, the 12th China Software Cup Student Software Design Competition Grand Final Awarding Ceremony was held in Nanjing. The team led by Li Yifei, a 2020 undergraduate student of the School of Software Engineering, won the first prize in the finals and was the only student team from Huazhong University of Science and Technology to win the first prize.

The team’s work,“Intelligent Resume Analysis System”, has successively overcome the technical problems of cumbersome and time-consuming analysis, limited extraction accuracy, and difficulty in matching people and jobs in resume parsing, and utilized natural language processing and machine learning technology to create a resume-oriented intelligent resume analysis system for the real job market, using the resume text recognition, large language model, and job matching algorithms as the core technology. The team is supervised by Prof. He Kun from the School of Computer Science & Technology, and other members include Jiang Siyu, Yang Mingxin and Yang Min.

The China Software Cup Student Software Design Competition, co-founded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, has been successfully held for 12 consecutive sessions. In terms of authority, attention, recognition and social influence, China Software Cup Competition ranks the forefront among similar events in China, and is the top event with the highest standardand the most prominent influence in the national software industry.

The 12th China Software Cup Competition lasted for one year and attracted a total of 5,767 teams from more than 800 colleges and universities across 31 provinces in China.Eventually, 25 teams won the first prize (including one special prize), 102 teams won the second prize, and 260 teams won the third prize. The competition also awarded 9 Enterprise Outstanding Contribution Awards, 25 Best Instructor Awards, 10 Industry-Education Integration Innovation Awards, 70 Best School Organization Awards, and 18 Best Local Organization Awards. Besides the National First Prize won by Li Yifei's team, the team of Ma Chuanhu, an undergraduate student from SSE, class of 2020, won the National Second Prize, and the team of Gao Jie and Huang Chao, graduate students from the class of 2022, achieved an excellent result by winning the National Third Prize.
