Su Shuguang, an associate professor at the School of Software Engineering, was selected for 2023—2024 Outstanding College Teachers in Computer Education Program.

Guided by Ministry of Education and National Natural Science Foundation of China, the program was launched by China Teacher Development Foundation. It aims to strengthen undergraduate education in higher education institutions and improve the teaching quality of compute majors. Its selection involves rigorous procedures and standards, including in-class supervision and evaluation from peer experts.

Su, the chief lecturer for the national first-class undergraduate course Guide to Operating Systems, was known for his rigorous and thought-provoking style of lecture and ranked among the most favored teachers. He was the recipient of two first prize in teaching and coached students to clinch awards in multiple disciplinary contests.

The School of Software Engineering strives to improve undergraduate education and cultivate top innovation talents, and encourages teachers to deliver efficient and high-quality classes through reforms. Its Software Engineering is a National Characteristic Program and National First-class Undergraduate Major. Five of its courses (Data Structure, Software Quality and Testing, Computer Graphics, Operating System, and Fundamental of Computer Programming) have been recognized as National First-class Undergraduate Courses.
