In the afternoon of May 10th, the Academic Development Support Center of School of Software Engineering organized “Preparing for Tomorrow" series of activities focused on studying abroad.The event was held in Room 109 of the School of Software Engineering Building and featured a speech from a representative of the International Exchange Office about undergraduate exchange programs abroad. This informative session helped our students better understand policies and opportunities related to studying abroad and better carrying out future plan.
Mr. Wang Shixian, Secretary of the Party Committee of SSE, pointed out at the meeting that SSE attaches great importance to the internationalization cultivation of students, and actively implements the relevant requirements of Huazhong University of Science and Technology's Global Development Strategy 2030.SSE will introduce measures for the cultivation of internationalized talents, and intensify the support and financial assistance for the students' activities of going abroad for further study, exchanges and visitsto broaden the internationalization horizons of the students, to increase the proportion of students who go abroad for study, and to raise the level of internationalized talents cultivation.
Wei Tian, Director of Student Exchange Service Center of International Exchange Office, introduced in detail the overall situation of our undergraduate exchange programs abroad from four aspects: categories of exchange programs, popular institutions, preparations and the application process. Students not only had a clearer understanding of the various programs, but also learned how to make excellent application plans and how to improve their English skills. Dai Shuqiong, the teacher in charge of the American University and European region exchange program, and Xiao Lina, the teacher in charge of the Asia-Africa region exchange programand the international organization program, highlighted the popular colleges and universities in the relevant regions and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each type of program with examples respectively.
In the free discussion session, the teachers answered the questions raised by the students. Students said that today's presentation was beneficial, as it not only provided practical information regarding the program and application process but also broadened our perspective, enabling us to recognize the significance of international exchanges and guiding us towards a new path for future development.
